Handmade with love.
Firstly, my handmade soap is made with love as I really care about each and every single batch that I make. The main ingredient in my soaps is olive oil which is kind and gentle for the skin, blended with other oils and butters to create a luxurious and creamy bar with an amazing lather.
Most commercially bought soaps are mass produced and are not soap at all but are chemical detergents or a mixture of detergents and soap that are very drying for the skin.
Glycerine.
My handmade soap contains glycerine which is a natural by-product of the soap making process. The glycerine is usually removed from commercially bought soaps and sold to the cosmetic industry to be used in other products such as moisturisers. However the glycerine is retained in my soaps as it's an excellent moisturiser and also one of the reasons that handmade soap is so good for your skin! Glycerine is an emollient which attracts moisture from the air helping to maintain moisture in the skin throughout the day.
Traditional process.
The cold process soap making method is a traditional method where the oils and butters are gently heated just enough to melt them and then mixed with Sodium hydroxide (lye), this starts the process of saponification. Other methods involve higher temperatures to speed up the process but keeping the temperatures low retains the natural properties of the oils and butters.
Skin benefits.
Your skin will benefit from using handmade soaps that are made using natural oils and butters instead of with a mixture of chemicals and detergents. After using handmade soaps your skin should feel soft and supple not dry and tight which is often the case when using commercial soaps.
Each bar is unique.
Mass produced soaps are made for efficiency of production with the main focus being on profit. My handmade soap is made in small batches to ensure the quality of each product. All my soaps are handmade and hand-cut and therefore, size, shape, colour and design will vary slightly from product to product making each bar truly unique and one of a kind.
Overview.
Another benefit of buying my handmade soap is that you're supporting my small business. Soap making is a passion of mine and you're helping to support my dream.
Overall there are lots of reasons why handmade soaps are better than commercial soaps, these are just a few.
Still not convinced?
The best thing you can do is to try my handmade soaps for yourself. I'm sure that once you've made the switch and your skin is feeling the benefits, you wont want to use anything else.
